doubt derive from those of St. James whose hand was kept at
Reading Abbey.

Earley
A great heraldic family of Berkshire. They lived at Englefield
from the reign of King Edgar until evicted for their Catholic
beliefs. They moved to Whiteknights in Earley, but continued to be
buried at Englefield. |

EYSTON
of East Hendred.
These residents of Hendred House are the most ancient family in
Berkshire still living at their original manor. |
